The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux Saint-Jacques 1er Cru contains 50% whole bunches with no new oak. It has a well defined bouquet with dark berry fruit, tea leaf and light tobacco aromas – very classic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with vibrant red berry fruit, lightly spiced with cracked black pepper and truffle notes towards the finish. Excellent. The absence of new oak really enhances this wine and allows the terroir to “speak”.
