The 2019 growing season set the stage for another amazing vintage in Napa Valley. Generous rainfall at the start of growing season preceded a long, warm summer with few extreme heat events. Cool, foggy mornings preserved freshness and finesse in the fruit, while abundant hang time on the vines allowed for ideal color, structure, and fruit tone extraction. The result: exceptional, balanced fruit with bright acidity, ample texture, and supple tannins.
Each Estate vineyard site lends its own voice and signature to the resulting blend of the Turnbull Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley. The fingerprint of the famous Fortuna Vineyard shines through in this wine, providing tart, fresh red fruits and spice box components; Amoenus Vineyard lends dark cherry tones and mid-palate width; Leopoldina Vineyard provides structure, texture, and dense black fruit; Our Home Vineyard, which surrounds our historic winery, brings fresh red fruit and focus.

Tasting Notes: “Notes of dusted blackberries, plum, and cherry lead to a back-drift of toast and fleeting tobacco. Supple creamy tannins widen the dark fruit midpalate, lending to a lifted and layered finish. This wine widens and rises in amplitude and velocity with elegance and balance, showcasing the incredible beauty of the 2019 vintage.”
