“The 2021 Coeur a Coeur is a 50-50 blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon matured in about 25% new French oak. It gains intensity and expression as it opens in the glass and strikes a fine balance of tropical, herbal and savory character, with peach, guava and dried tarragon aromas accented by tones of beeswax, candle smoke and matchstick. The full-bodied palate is luxuriously satiny, offering a deep core of layered flavors foiled by fireworks of fresh acidity, and it has a very long finish driven by the alluring weightiness of Sémillon. Reminiscent of Bordeaux Blanc, it will gain savory complexity in bottle over the next 10–15 years. 172 cases were made.”
